Boredom

Postby Duck Nasty » Mon Mar 03, 2014 6:26 pm

Well I only have 2 birds left in the freezer and I have to go to dc for a month next week so I didn't want to start one of them. I got bored and carved a couple of decoys to get better at my air brushing and this is what I got on some hens.

Good idea, but I'd spend some more time on the bill...that's what ya gotta paint on the real thing anyway. Take some pics and give us a closeup.

Yeah I burlaped them. Those 2 heads were garbage. I carved them out of an old 2x4. Now I have been carving them out of foam and apoxie sculpt. Thanks for the compliments. I'm doing 6 bwt now I'll show you some when I get them done this weekend

Very cool. I haven't tried burlap yet. I use high density cork and bass wood for the head and tail. Oak keels.
It's very addicting, just like taxidermy lol..Now that you brought it up I might have to make some time to do one soon.
It's been awhile. Old squaw gunner I did last year.
