Question, are the neck collars such as this yellow one, plastic? they look plastic to me but common sense tells me plastic would become brittle from the elements and break off.

I think they do, i've heard of guys finding UV-brittle collars on old birds. You can just tell by looking at them, they look faded and worn.

Awesome pictures! Most of the time the snow pics people put up are just a mass of white, great job picking out a few birds at a time and honing in

teal2008 these pictures are awsome!!! How many more pictures like this do you have? I can't stop looking at the snow locked up like a concord jet coming in for landing. I take it you are using a full format camera? How large will these blow up and are you willing to sell some?

my fav is the one with the $hit on its beak.

teal....how are you able to see the number on the bands to report them? spotting scope? I only have one duck band and its hard enough to read when I can handle it.

Awesome pics! How many birds had neckbands.
What distance were these shots. I think they must have been under 75 yds.

You could even see the foot band it has in the last pic of the neck collar. Its on its right foot and directly underneath the bird to the rights beak.
