AR or MO Spring Snow hunt outfitter recommendations

Postby bnow0707 » Fri Sep 09, 2011 3:34 am

First let me say hello to everyone. :hi:

Second I'm from Alabama and have been duck hunting for a few years, mostly woodies and mallards. I have a group of 4-6 guys that are interested in heading to Arkansas or Missouri for a spring snow goose hunt for 2-3 days. I'm looking for reccomendations on outfitters for the spring snow goose conservation hunt. Just looking to get opinions from folks that have hunted with guides in this area before. :help:

Thanks alot.

Here's the deal, as I'm sure you know, snow goose hunting is unpredictable. If you have the money, go to Habitat Flats. I really think they provide one of the best opportunities to get you on snow geese out of anybody on a consistent basis.

habitat flats is nice-but you dont need to spend $625 per gun per day to have a quality snow goose hunt, i would reccomend Matt schauer (northernskiesoutfitters.com) or scott robinson (snowgoosespecialist.com) both are top notch and you will get on geese for a lot less, good luck.

yeah, $625 per day is pretty steep to pay for a day of snow goose hunting.

Hunting MO is like hunting 2 completely different states!!!!!! They are either in the Boothill or in the Northwest corner Not both!! Look at boothill outfitters end of Feb first of March Northwest outfitter 2nd week of March after. Also like mentioned Paying $675 for a day snow goose hunt is stupid!!!!!!!!

If you have never been on a snow goose hunt check out www.bustinbeaks.com These are the hardest working group of guys in the business. I have hunted with them for the past several years and they hunt both areas just depending on where the most birds are.

I agree, paying $600 is pretty steep. If you have the money though, I'd be all over it. They boarder Swan Lake NWR and that place holds CRAZY amounts of birds. I wish I had their land, anybody could smoke waterfowl out of there all day everyday.

+1000

I have hunted with several outfitters, and no one compares to the experience with Bustin' Beaks. They don't just stay in a field for weeks at a time, hoping the birds will move in... other guides just flat out don't care what the outcome is. That's the problem with most outfitters, trust me, been there done that. Most snow goose outfitters set spreads in a field and won't move for weeks, regardless of the conditions. That is not the the ticket for spring hunting. I can tell horror stories of other outfitters, but just trust me, save your time and money and go with Bustin' Beaks. I think they're website is www.bustinbeaks.com
