East Coast Snows

Postby Cupped-n-Committed » Tue Nov 23, 2004 10:14 am

Shoot, Like I did not have enough to learn now. Walked out the front door and 18 snow geese flew right over the house. I was confused for a minute. Is it a fluke for them to be in the mountains here or do they fly down something like the Potomac River sometimes?

I need some information on these guys. Exspecial since the bag limit is 15 compared to 5 on the resident canadas.

Any one know of migrations maps for snows?

We are seeing them on the susquehanna north of harrisburg as well and never see them here as well normally they are at least 20 to 40 miles east . Hopefully the migration route is changing we also have been seeing the random specklebelly as well.

Not really, middle creek refuge (lancaster PA) is 30 miles east of me and it holds usually 100,000 snow normally. They to stay away from the mountains normally. However we bagged four this morning and saw maybe 30 total.

I saw snows in Harford County Maryland last week. Haven't seen them in that area in the last couple years.

Thanks! . . . that was an interesting day. I took a series of pics throughout the day as they increased in #s. The one above is the next to the last before dark.
