Just wondering if anyone has tried the "white sheet" method for snow goose decoys. Trying to bulk up the spread and got juvies I plan on hunting once they roll through. Basically how do you do it? Do you just lay a white sheet on the ground and peg it down or cut out sections to make it look like space In between geese. Also grocery bags? I also have a bunch of one gallon pails I was thinking of using on the water any ideas there?
I have to agree with Old Hunter, when NJ first allowed snow goose hunting in the early 80's we used white linen napkins confiscated from a restaurant where I worked at, and they would draw the birds near enough to get a shot at, but that was back before there were a billion birds, and the were not educated as todays birds are. I remember when socks first appeared, the geese were drawn like magnets to them. A year or two later and they recognized them as being deathtraps!!! Todays birds have been exposed to every kind of rig known to man and are much wiser. You may have success under the right conditions, like any other species, they all make mistakes when conditions are stressful, but normal conditions will make it difficult to fool them. Doesn't hurt to try and who knows, maybe they will think your spread is the place to be! Good Luck.
Your about 20 years behind with the stuff your wanting to try!! Like said above... These birds are hunted from September to May from the Tundra to Mexico and back... Thats a lot of decoy spreads.. They have seen it all from full bodies, to stuffers, to silo socks, flyers, roto machines, ecallers, spreads in the thousands.. If you want to kill them over decoys trash bags and texas rags aint going to do it any more  Its become a big $$ game with lots of gear The days of throwing out 200-300 texas rags out with no ecaller and killing some birds are done...
