Specks on a honker call?!

Postby Robberwood » Thu Oct 20, 2005 3:32 pm

Athomeruddy and i were out hunting the other day and we saw what we thought to be geese so we got on our calls and started with hails and cluck and turned um and they started comin in so we let off and just have simple clucks and murmors and then shot cause we didnt have any goose dekes (we were duck hunting and didnt expect any geese)or anything. They were specks!!!! We called um in on our honker calls. Just thought that was pretty cool. especially seein them in our area and hearing them, a first for the both of us!
"Dont land over there!"
So what time are they suppose to show up?

We've done that before. It's pretty cool. We were out on the lake one day, nuthin but duck decoys out, and called in 2 snow geese with honker calls. On some calls if you tune em high, you can make them sound like snows or specks.
