Mac Island Calls??????????

Postby HunterX » Sat Oct 29, 2005 9:03 am

I know someone in this forum has tried the mac island call. Is it any good? I would like to get a call so that I only have to use one hand to do it. Any suggestions?

A buddy of mine got one he was told it was an acrylic call and it was polycarb. I personally thought it was squeaky as well. But everyone has there own opions thats just mine.

I question the above. (actually I call FROGGY, but saying "question" sounds better  )
I know Cameron at Mac Island calls and I am pretty sure he only makes Acrylics. I do not know of him to make a Polycarbonate call. He may have started producing a molded call, but it can still be Acrylic. I could be mistaken about the materials, but contacting Cam would be the best way to find out.

Well - first of all, Cam doesn't make any poly calls at the moment. If it was "squeaky", I'm guessing either it somehow got out of tune or operator error.

If he still has the call - tell him to send it in for a tune job. Cam will do that for free.

But thanks for the positive remarks

Well I just talked to Cam this eveing he stated that all of his calls are acrylic. I may have spoken out of turn on this one, by going on the word of another. I blew the call briefly and it just wasnt what I am used to. I prefer my SMH to any call on the market. I apologize to Cam for speaking out of turn.
