I haven't blown an acrylic but i have had a poly carb an a hedge. the poly carb i bought at a store and it was really hard to blow, then i saw tim at a dinner and he tuned it real nice for me. it blew very easy with little back pressure and the reed was not even shaved. now the barrel broke in half so it doesnt matter. and the hedge was from a buddy that bought it directly from tim. It blew very good too. the key i think is to get one that is hand tuned by tim and it will be very nice, you tell him how you want it and he will do it.

My supermag is birdseye maple. It quickly became one of my favorite calls. It doesn't need much backpressure and sounds very goosey. It's well worth the $$$$.I have a couple of calls that I like as much as the mag, but none that I like better.Range and tone are both excellent.

they are nice calls but as with any call if they are not tuned right they are horrible. when u go to seminars talk to the guys about shaving reeds and adjusting tone boards. if u tune it to what u want u can make a 50$ call sound awesome. just get some extra reeds when u buy it

Ya might wanna try out a Grounds 007 too. I don't care for the Super Mag, but absolutely love my 007. Good luck.
