Looking for some input on canada goose calls for hunting on the east coast. What in eveyone's opinion is the best call for the east coast honkers mainly nj, pa, md and ny for instance.

I would run either a Sean Mann Eastern Shoreman for a flute or a Sean Mann Sweet Talker for a short reed. But the most important thing is to PRACTICE,PRACTICE,PRACTICE with whatever call you end up getting.

Ive been using a Sean Mann Wing Mann which is part of the wing nut series and i'm in south east pa. I have to agree though that i think the most important thing is practice with whatever call you get so when the time arises you can coax em in. Good luck to you!

Depends on when you are hunting.... If you are talkin migrators, any higher pitched short reed call will do the job, looking for something deeper to hunt those big old resident geese, maybe a bit more on the mellow sides... Go Wood. maybe a Glenn Scolbey

I bought my first Gander Valley Calls Powerhouse from a east coast guide. It still is on my lanyard and still will coax them big swamp donkeys in on a string. We hunt the coast a few times and I see more and more guys using GVCC calls. To be honest all calls will work anywhere if used properly .... geese is geese no matter where you are hunting them. You want a call to drive how you want it to ... that is the secret. Find a guy that will work with you to get YOU what you want/need. Mark and GVCC has been awesome to work with.

I've been using Tim Grounds calls the last few years and they work well. Very goosey and can still get quiet with them when close

Your favorite short reed provided you can run it proficiently. If you can, you can get those low deep sounds using voice inflection or the high clear notes running "clean air" through the call. Id take a GK Canuck personally....very versatile.

While all those calls mentioned are great calls i have had great success with the High Plains Honker from Foiles and the SMH, i am on the Eastern Shore of md and we get tons of migrators, the foiles calls can def hit the high notes and get down and goosey on the low end, they are super easy to blow and require very little back pressure, check one out, if you make it down to md give me a shout ill set ya up on a hunt so you can see them in action
