i would like to know why everyone thinks short reeds are better than flutes. i just see alot of people down talking flutes on here so im curious.

Both will kill birds, but short reeds can just do more, I prefer the sound of mine over any flute I have ever blown and can do a heck of a lot more on it than on a flute, I just like them

To each his own. I agree more can be done on a SR. I am not good with mine so thats not all ways true. I took to the Flutes fast. Now I'm trying to learn the SR. Buy and use what feels good to you. If you haven't started with one. I would get some good learning tools and a SR. You will most likely be better off in the long run for range. That being sead, ,I don't want to give up my Sean Mann Eastern Shoreman anytime soon. :thumbsup:

I have used flutes and short reeds. Personally I now use and prefer SR's just because of the above mentioned items. But there are callers with flutes around that can very easily hold their own
