Which goose call for beginner?

Postby rcase1234 » Tue Jan 15, 2013 7:32 pm

Hello everyone. I have been doing some duck calling and sort of getting the hang of it. So I figured I'll try some goose calling. I only hunt Canada's. I have been looking into the polycarb Field Proven Raptor, Buck Gardner Canada Hammer, and the Quackhead Goozilla. Looking for a call that is easy to use and under $50 but quality. If you have any other suggestions that would be great. I am looking for a good beginner call basically

Winglock poly is a good starter call. You could also get a cast acrylic let em lite for under $50 on ebay.

****'s Sporting Goods has Tim Grounds Poly Super Mags on for $39, then when you go to the check out they are another 25% off that. Unfortunetly they wouldn't ship one to me in Canada for some reason though.
Anyway, it's an awesome beginner goose call, actually an awesome beginner call, all the way through to experienced call, all you'll ever need! I have a hedge one, and for that price would have liked a poly version for a second one.

Ok...a goose whisperer is a perfect beginner call and beyond. Extremely easy to operate.

What do you guys think about a Primos Honky Tonk? My wife got it for me for christmas as my first goose call and I have been doing ok with it. I am haveing trouble with faster clucks butother than that it doesn't seem too bad and it was pretty cheap I think.

Get the Zink PC-1 with the instructional DVD. Easy call to work and the DVD will teach you how to sound decent.

I'm doing alright with the honky tonk now so I'm not sure if I should step back to the Zinc. When is it time to step up to a different call? I can do moans, klucks, and honks at a decent pace now.
