Foiles Market Hunter Wood or Acrylic

Postby josholney » Fri Oct 13, 2006 6:41 am

Hey, I am debating between a wood and an acrylic market hunter. I have an acrylic SMH and I want something that sounds a little different. Is there a particular species of wood that is better that another. If you could help me out that would be great. :help:

I have a SMH and a Markey Hunter both are acrylic. They sould different but if you are looking for something totally different I would go with hedge or maple. Cocablola is a hard wood and will have more of a sharper sound that some of the softer woods. If you are looking for a softer call get something in maple. I am not to sure if Foiles makes that call in maple but i know some other companies make a maple call. Try winglock of Zink I know they both make them. Tuning can also change the sound so you could also try that.
