What goose call?

Postby NeverEndingOutdoors » Sun Mar 02, 2014 5:31 pm

I'm looking for two goose calls. One that's a mid-long range call. Another that is a soft short range call. I really like field proven calls. Any ideas?

I ran Fields calls through the season, they were a gift and I wanted to give them a fair run. I did not like the fit or the look, look is far less important but Im not a fan. I suggest looking into the GVCC line up for the calls you asked about. A PCS and HYBRID should be about right. The guys at Gander Valley would be the best ones to ask. Look them up, great calls and service and a outstanding reputation.

Field and Clay def make good calls. For what you're describing, I'd go with the matrix for you're faster mid to long range stuff and the aftershock for the softer stuff or the raptor in wood for the softer stuff. I'm just not fond of the feel in hand of them. I've not used them in the field yet, but I'm really liking the new zinks. I've got a cod for the softer stuff and it'll get up there to and an nbn for the louder sharper faster stuff. Grounds triple crown paired with a g over hauler is another great combo. Good luck.

I run a Zink SR-1 paraylyzer for long range/over water. My mid range to soft call is a Zink COD. If I had to do it over again, I would have gotten my COD in the birdseye maple, but I am happy with what I presently have.
