Zink BIGs

Postby wjarrell » Sat Mar 08, 2014 9:54 pm

I have had a Moneymaker for a while now with the stock black guts. I'm interested in how the BIGs would sound in a MM so I'm going to order a set this week. Those of you that blow Zink's how do you like the green broke in gut system?

I love Zink BIGs. Awesome speed and crack and can produce some nasty trick notes in pretty much any call design I have tried

you will find that the stock MM guts are louder than the green gut set up

I plan to throw BIGS in My Zink SR-1, does anybody know if those would make it sound any better?

you should find you lose a little volume with the shaved reed but will get more response with less pressure. my hunting calls all have the full reed and BI tone board.

I have the BIGs in my SR-1. I love it. It's still plenty loud and fast enough.

i love the BIGs. i have them in my NBN and NOS. they are super fast, have a high crack to em and dont need a whole lot of air to run.

They ran great in my nbn but hated them in my nos, just broke over to easy no matter how I tuned them.

Different strokes for different strokes. They had no crack for my calling - ok for soft finesse stuff, but I couldn't rip on it in any Zink call I ran them in, and I ran all of their calls quite a bit. When I was using their calls on video, I was running my own old set of broken in Edge guts with full, bent and flipped reed - much more crack, and countered the insanely light air presentation Zinks has designed in his calls. If I was running Zink guts, it'd be full black ones.

Wayyyyy to light and to be honest I don't car for the fit or tone any if his calls offer. I find most guys that run them out this way are young guns and like to be part of a group more than run the best call for them. I am not complaining , I actually like it that way when they are in the next field and watching us shoot them long necks in the grill!.
