Postby CSAKing » Mon Sep 17, 2012 2:03 pm

Anyone do this? I just need a few geese for confidence decoys and was wondering if anyone uses canada goose shells as floaters? will this work or will I have to fill them with great stuff or something?

Pipe insulation is what most people use. Some guys used to make floaters out of super mag shells.

Good point. Might just be better to buy some cheap floaters off of ebay or cabelas.

ok so i have been thinking about this as well , thanks for the info.. Also try two liter jugs, or milk jugs. drill a small hole on both sides of the shell down by the edge where the jug handle of the milk jug . Now tie a piece of mason line through the hole then put it through the handle or rap it around the neck of liter, then line through the other hole then tie it one time around line then sintch tie the other. you know the kind of knot that when one pulls the loose end it comes undone for the most part . works great ... oh yes put the thicker part of jugs towards the front... OK NOW DOES ANY ONE KNOW HOW TO MAKE DECOYS???? iam useing tarps and well everything . needing old unwanted decoys . free or small price being they need worked on to get field ready

2" blueboard cut to fit would also work and you could add a keel for stability.

I use pool noodles attached around the inside with zip ties. Works great
When I die I hope its in a duck blind, that, or shot in the back climbing out of a jealous mans bedroom window.
