making v boards

Postby Huntfish12 » Fri Sep 21, 2012 6:54 pm

Did a quick search and couldent find a good source for info. Im lookin for some kind of instruction on how to make some v board floaters. Got a bunch of corrugated plastic sheets and think it would be a perfect opportunity to make some.

I made some out of pressure treated 2x2 with coroplas decoys and they started slowly sinking after 3 to 4 hours. SO I am not sure if you need to use non-treated and paint/seal or what. That is my only experience. I got a pdf I wrote on how I made them, but I can't attach it.

use non pressure treated 1x2's and use a can on thompson water seal. pressure treated lumber is too heavy. mine have worked great, i think they show up better at a distance than my goose floaters they tend to sit higher and you can overexagerate the white tail patch to really make them show up
