silhouettes or full bodies

Postby cn44 » Mon Dec 03, 2012 10:39 pm

I'm looking at getting some more deekes and not sure if I want to go fulls or silhouettes? I'm leaning towards silhouettes because I can get about 3 doz vs 1 doz fulls.. What are the advantages of fulls over silohouettes? We run about 40-50 full bodies right now and I'm looking to add size to our spread. Don't like shells, hate dealing with having to put heads on. Also thinking about picking up some canadian silo socks..

My personal opinion if you already have 4 dozen full bodies, go with the silos. They work and they take up virtually no space.

Real Geese Sillos Series II for sure!! Look awesome, light, compact, and great for beefing up the spread and breaking out the outlines of your blinds!! I said it before and il say it again... if i could do it all over again i would have started out with sillos and bought nothing else!

Best of luck

How do the silos do in windy conditions? Here in Ok. the wind blows 15 to 25 mph all the time.

Depends on how your able to hunt. If you can drive on to your fields then full bodies are where it's at. You can kill geese with silos and shells but I think full bodies do a better job of putting them in the decoys.

Sillos put birds in the decoys and they will stay up fine in 15-25 mph wind.

If you're mixing in silhoettes with full bodies and worried about wind, put them out so they are into the wind not against it and you'll have no problems. I would go with silos not socks for honkers.

I use my silos a lot mixed w my fullbodies when pursuing migrants I also use socks as well like the motion they add since my fullbodies r bigfoots. U can even purchase motion stakes for your silos as well decoy dancer still makes em I think
