Squaw Creek Has 250,000 snows and about 85,000 canadians
Hoping tht Thursdays and Fridays Super Cool off will deliver some ducks down...so good luck in MO
Hunted North of Squaw Creek Sunday March 4th, only shot one snow goose out of a group of four of us. The snow seemed like they were very decoy shy.
I would say that Squaw is holding about 350k birds or more. The birds are really in a pattern and fly north then turn around because of the snow in iowa.
Saw many specks try to land in our spread of 600+ decoys.
The mallards are also very thick. Over 10,000 birds landed 1000 yds. away from our blind in a soy bean field. Most birds I have ever seen landing up close.
Until this snow melts off in iowa the birds are going to be stuck in Squaw creek.
I am guessing they are going to start moving north from squaw creek with this warm weather. The snow in Iowa has melted and the birds should be on the move this week if they were not last week. I would suggest hunting Iowa or central nebraska
Saw tens of thousands of snows on Sat. moving north, and not too many stuck around in my area..
