i've heard a few small flocks trickling into Sd the last week. Most are still in ND.

The Snows were on the move this past week. AB lost many snows. ND still has most, but SD is starting to stack them up in NE part. This coming week look for SD to be hot, and points south of there a week from now.

Lots of birds from that area down to I-90. I would say we saw at least 500K migrating between Thursday-Saturday. Of course that's just a guess but we were seeing trains lasting 2 hours long...crazy.

E. SD should have plenty of birds...just pretty skiddish as you'd expect with =front push birds.

The snow that we got pushed the snows and blues out of SE North Dakota. warmer temps this week should start to bring them back up.

14" of snow at Highmore, SD, that is east of Pierre and N of Chamberlin.

Aberdeen was on the northern edge. Pierre over to Brookings is south center of precip. So 25 mile S of that line and 75 North of the line is main precip area. Heaviest is just west of Redfield at 3/4". .25" to up to .50" of precip fell as a norm in that area, lesser amounts area from around the area. Like northern counties along ND did not get any. Less than .25 S of I -90 But remember, now equate that rain amount to Snow.

Northern edge of NE also got precip, .25" and less (2") . SW Mn got up to 1/2", mainly SW of the MN River.

Areas with less than 4" should have pretty much melted off today. Areas less than 6" should be melted off tomorrow IF the sun conmes out. Be prepared for SLOP in the fields--like ATVs getting stuck. So go light, hike in the gear in back backs, carts, etc.

Hunted last weekend in So.Dak.
There was quite a few thousand around the DeSmet area over the weekend.
On sunday, a major migration north was definitely on. We saw flock after flock heading north for hours.
They were lined up in the sky as far as you could see on the horizon.

You'll need to put on some miles, but you may find some. You'll need to be REALLY close to the border with the Dakotas.

With the Red River Valley being wet this year there was a lot more snows that came up the Dakota/MN border.

The birds are starting to thin out south of HW 2 in ND. There is still good concentrations but the migration was going on strong Thursday through Saturday in our area.

They are out of MN now for 2 weeks.

But ND still has S&Bs. As Chris mentioned, you have to get real lucky, or pound many miles scouting to find then, but they are around yet. 2 acquintenances of mine reportedly shot 124 on Thursday in ND. I'd say by end of next weekend they will be real scattered in ND.
