to get off the subject of waterfowl hunting for a little, lets talk some about your luck in the woods this season.

SO..........any youth been deer huntin with any luck so far this season? if so list what you shot it with, where, when, and if it was a buck or doe. if buck give us his size.

im going saturday Nov.12 and we've been seeing this nice whitetail. 10 pt...he's a 4x6. nice character. hopping to get my first mature buck. he comes to the same field everyday.

good luck to everyone with future hunts.

I do a little deer and turkey hunting on the side.

I finished my last youth day EVER in Tennessee 2 weekends ago. I'm 16 so I could harvest any deer. I was in Rural Weakley County TN, bout 700 yards from the Kentucky Stateline. I was hunting on the ground, it was really cold but I was not concerned about it. I got in the woods early bout 5 o'clock & set up on the edge of a cut soy-bean field. Theres a good herd of deer using the field for a trail to get to were they feed. There is a nice 9 point in this herd that always comes following the doe's. But I'm saving him for later in regular season. The herd of about 20 does ((Just to let you guys that arent from west-TN the deer count is 75 deer to 1 square mile in Obion,Weakley,Henry,Lake,Gibson Counties)) so the deer were heading my way, I found a good size doe in the scope of my 7-mag that dad had gotten for me last christmas. I shot and she didnt go anywhere, she dropped. Hit her in the heart, she didnt feel a thing. I wainted then cleaned her, got the forwheeler, put her in the back of my truck and drove off to the checking station, then took her to the house. It was a great day in the woods.

(O yeah and Im still Duck-N-Goose Crazy) (On my way home bout 50 Canadas flew over the road)

I will post pics up soon.

i shot a small doe, my first one ever on the first saturday of bow season back in september. shot her in talbot county, a few minutes outside easton and cordova. i was just out today and had a doe coming right to me untill a truck went down the road 200 yards behind my stand and she decided she didnt like it anymore. that was just outside denton, with the delaware line running through the middle of the property. gun season starts friday in delaware, the youth hunt in maryland is saturday(not sure if im going but it would be my last one...16) and gun season in maryland starts the saturday after thanksgiving but ill be in iowa chasing pheasants on my uncles farm.
