Youth hunt with my boy

Postby Needabirddog » Sun Sep 29, 2013 6:15 am

So I took my boy who is seven out looking for duck. there's a swamp out behind my house. We hiked out there to check it out. To my amazement we jumped a pack of around 25 ducks. The 410 wasn't loaded but I think we were close enough for a shot. In the coarse of an hour we saw roughly a hundred duck. So it looks like I have found a new hobby. I'll have a few questions here soon enough. It's just awesome being in the woods with my little man. walking out we jumped a couple turkey! now I have a lot of research to do for this season. I love nh!!

Sounds like a great adventure! I've been taking my kids, even just watching and scouting since age 4. Plural is ducks, and they fly in flocks. Find someone to help introduce you and your son to the sport, shorten the learning curve. Often fish and game, or Ducks U limited will have youth events at the beginning of the season. Have a great fall!
