Thats a big bird....

Ohsobad, I got him with a 12 ga out of our pit blind...LOL The state refuge and Federal refuge surround our property on three sides. We get neck bands at least 6 or 7 times a yr.

Sorry to hear that you lost 'em. It sounds as if you've been bit by the waterfowling bug -sitting through two seasons with no action is enough to drive most folks mad!-

Nex time you are out in the marsh/field, watch 'em when they land. I can only guess that a few of these birds came in at the same time and you took several from one flock..thereby making it harder to find 'em, as you were likely watching for other birds you could shoot.
My advice would be to take your time, one bird at a time and make sure you can find it before you go trying to shoot some more. A dog may be another God option for you, trained well they can help you find the downed birds but they are still no sure bet.
Safe and happy hunting to you.

Mine first duck was on a Youth hunt with my new Benelli Nova. Flock shot on a group of Woodies flying by and dropped one with my last shell. My dad told me there was no way I aimed....he was right. God he is too good. Ever since them its been easy as ever.
