Wow, give the kid a break. Yes its bad that he went over is limit, but hes just the kind of kid that needs to learn his lesson the hard way. Everyone does stupid stuff as a kid and ljust like the rest of us will look back one day and laugh.

As for the ability to hit ducks, practice makes perfect. Have someone throw skeet for you at right angles so you learn how to lead.

by reading our responses he will learn. if we tell him good job kid-o hes doomed to repeat the mistake.

on topic...practice. shoot 5 stand if u can, or a clays course. trap doesnt help me, but skeet can be great for establishing lead.
practice alot of rounds and then go kill a duck, make sure ur only taking close shots, chances are if u cant kill ducks ur shots are too far away.

Let this serve as an example to all.

Know the local regulations concerning your hunt. (Limits, restrictions, etc) and follow them closely. You'll keep your hunting priveleges if you operate within the law. If you are foolish enough to shoot over-limits, poach, etc, don't bother posting it on the internet, let alone DHC.

Game wardens DO watch hunting forums, and will try to determine your location if they feel that your case warrants it, or they feel the need to follow up.

Now we don't need to give mallardmaniac08 any more hard of a time. The point has been made, there is no need to shoot more than your limit. It is a lesson learned.

It's illegal for one person to shoot more than one person's limit. Hunting is better with friends, but it isn't a team sport. A GW can ticket you for not separating your piles of birds.

Well we see you killed 14 but how many times did you shoot and as far as the skeet shooting goes unless the skeet are flying FAST dont bother most times i go you put the beed a foot in front pull the trigger and it breakes yesterday i shot 20/20 which is normal for me but then when u shoot ducks it causes you to shoot way behind. I usally give a passing duck a 5 foot leed depending on how far but you are shooting behind the birds i mean have you ever heard someone saw they shoot infront of a duck. Give it a chance your only 13 get the leed you think you need then get farther good luck

Shooting decoying mallards is as easy as it gets the teal and woodies are a bit faster. Down here in sc all we shoot are woodies in the swamp but you can kill a limit of them with ease so im kinda used to them burning up the decoys but then shoot infront of some ducks that do decoy and are close and slow just from natural reaction haha
