I'll be shooting the venerable ol' 30-30 this year. Not sure what I'll be using for ammo yet, still need to put some more range time in. The gun seems to like 170 grains the best. I tried the LeverEvolutions but couldn't get a decent group with them.
100 Gr Grim Reaper expandable broad head. Our rifle season in Missouri is all of 10 days long and archery season is 100+ days, if I can kill a couple of deer before rifle season, I may not even bother sharing the woods with the pumpkin army.
If I do participate in rifle season, I'll use my 30-06 with a 150-165 gr bullet.
300 WSM loaded with 61 grains of powder and topped with a 165gr nosler accubond. Shot a deer with this bullet last year and the heart lung area was mush; deer was dead before he hit the ground.
