Rapeseed for foodplots. Need advice

gonna try some rapeseed next year in some food plots for deer. How long does it take to mature? Broadcast or rows? What kind of ground should it be planted? (i have creek bottom soil and i have flat praire soil) Thanks for your help. Im located in illinois

If your in Illinois your soil is probably good enough to grow about anything. Just broadcast it and try to work it in no more than 3/4 of an inch. Should grow perfect.
