I dont know much about what makes a good Elk, but he looked pretty big to me...having never shot one before, I would have definitely taken him. But if you have taken several, Im sure you are more choosy.

15 Yards and you didn't shoot that bull?

You either do it for a living or your an elk hunting God.

I don't know what is considered a big bull in Nevada but in the three states I've hunted for elk, WA, CO, OK, I would have done my best to put that beautiful stud on the ground.

Sorry if I come across as brash. On the plus side you got some truly fantastic footage and maybe he'll be running around making carbon copies of himself. If you ever need a back up shooter to come and shoot those little cull bulls  let me know.

BTW be sure to post pic's of the one you do harvest b/c if you passed on that one I can't wait to see the one that doesn't get away.

Depends who you are and where you are.

Awesome footage, no doubt. Why did you let him walk? Got a few already?

Either way, great hunt man

I tell you what if the would have been my first bull I would have taken him in a HEARTBEAT!!! He is a pretty nice bull but if I went every year or pretty frequently I would let him go. He is def big but not a monster! Either way that is great footage man and thanks for sharing!!

It was the first 5 minutes of a week long archery hunt, and there were 3 in the party so I couldnt take off early, I did get one, but he was not as large as this boy.

I would never pass on an elk that close if I had a tag for it. Cow, bull, calf, doesn't matter. I'm after meat! That was a dandy of a bull though! Nice footage!

That was a nice looking bull, I definitely would have taken it, but then again I never shot an elk so maybe it is just me..

I've been hunting elk for 5 years.... I would've taken that bull 10 times out of 10. It must've been cool hearing it bugle that close. There loud as hell.
What where you hiding in? You must've had great cover!
