Surprise Visitor!

Postby mayhem96 » Mon May 14, 2012 4:04 pm

Went to my lease in Virginia this past weekend to try and kill a turkey. Well we had one gobbling, but he knew something was up. To make the long story short, my sister decided that day she wanted to shoot a turkey. Now in Virginia you can shoot turkeys with a rifle, so we put my dad and sister in the tower blind over the corn field. Well "by-golly"' my dad hears something and a 500 pound black bear walks under the here is a video!

The Virginia state record is only 592, if that bear is over 500 thats one impressive animal.

Either way, very cool

Hard to get a good perspective on the size, but based on the video I'd say it's closer to the 375-400 range. We normally see 400-500lb blacks around here in the Adirondacks with the occaisionly bigger.
