It's the first season in the county this year in as long as I have been alive... Between Farmersville and blue ridge are where the majority of the big boys are.. The season is private land hunting only this year..

I hope you have a place to hunt. That is some good lookin country in that area, as far as huntin goes. What got me was the deer I saw was pretty heavy for this part of Tex.

I can hunt on the places I duck hunt but they are not very promising.. The land adjacent to the lake and along Indian and pilot creek is the place to be.. Most of those areas are locked up already... And yeah the deer round here are pretty big.. And the antlers are usually very heavy.. I don't care for big horns as I would rather kill does all day long but if u are a trophy hunter Collin county is the place to be...if they ever open the lake bottoms to hunt there will be some bucks killed that will push the state record.. While squirrel hunting I've seen numerous monster bucks that would give even experienced hunters the shakes

Maybe hunters will push some your way. Why have they never had a deer season in Collin county. There's alot of open country there.

Just wasn't enough to hunt... Up until bout 8 yrs ago it was pretty rare to see a deer round here except for the guys that hunted the lake bottoms regularly... I saw em every morning before school runnin steel traps on the creek but it's just been recently more and more people are seeing them and hitting them on the roads so I guess that pushed em to open a season
