Decoys?

Postby Greg Wile » Sat Jun 18, 2005 5:57 am

Do any of you use the deer decoys? How do you use them?, in conjunction with calls, rattling, scents, etc... And how effective are they? Do they work better at certain times of the season?
Build memories, take a kid out doors and teach them about nature by interacting with it, hunting and fishing.

This could be a good topic Greg. We use one during the pre rut mostly. I use calls like rattling & the grunt call. We use scents but never put them on the decoy. We like to change it from a doe to a buck depending on the time of the hunt.

No. I think it would be to much of a hassle to put up and keep scent free and to move around. That is just my opinion. I like to slip in and out of the woods as quietly as possible and I think that I wouldn't be able to do that with a deke.
If the hunting is cold, luckily so is the beer!

We spray it down with carbon spray before we put ours up.

Hey, did you grab the blind bag with the shells when we left the truck?
