Freak Deer

Postby duckdog » Mon Aug 22, 2005 11:36 am

Here is a pic of a deer my brother-in-law shot a couple years ago during latemuzzle loader season. I think it was hit by a car earlier, or injure some other way. Ther is still velvet on the antler that grew down, and he could barley move it's jaw to eat. Suprisingly it was in good shape. Everybody was after him during the shotgun season. His nickname was the facemask buck. Not a huge rack, but definitely different![imImageg][/img]

 Frist time to see a rack like that one but I have seen some drop tines on bucks that came prety close to touching the animals jaw.
Build memories, take a kid out doors and teach them about nature by interacting with it, hunting and fishing.

That is weird. I have a buck skull out on the side of my barn that has has the left side beam running straight down the side of its jaw. It was so close to the side of his head that I could not even cut off the antlers.

Pretty different. My buddy mounted a "unicorn" buck one time. Had a tine growing out of the center of his skull plate. I'll see if there is a pic of it.
Hey, did you grab the blind bag with the shells when we left the truck?
