Eastern Nebraska Pheasants?

Postby duckman31 » Mon Nov 23, 2009 10:22 am

I normally plan a trip to the Omaha area during the Holidays to do some Pheasant hunting but for the past two years I have not made the trip for a number of reasons ($, weather, reports, etc...). This year might be different, but I am having mixed reports about the status of ringnecks. I heard early that numbers were looking about average for early fall, but now I am hearing that there a hardly no birds around anywhere. Is there any truth to this?
Thanks

I went to school in Southeast Nebraska and we always did pretty well on both pheasants and quail. Of course we had some good private ground that always held birds and some pieces of public ground that didn't get hunted that often. I would get a ways outside of Omaha and you might start getting into more birds.
