Buy something like a little bushnell or something.
The group ended up with 420 birds.

I don't know if you can get the brand name "Tasco" down there(may just be a canadian brand) But I have one on my Savage .22. Great little scope. It came with rings for a dovetailed reciever and the price was right, 25 bucks.

:salude:
Is it september the 8th yet???

Dont see any reason to put a sope on a 10/22. He'll go out plinking with his friends and not want the thing on there. But I do agree that a tasco is a good quality scope for the price. i'd stay smaller that a 3X9X30 though.

I have a 17 hmr sporting a 3-9 40 bushnell banner. I work at a sporting goods store and these sell for about $80. The great thing about bushnell is thazt if for any reason the scope messes up, due to manufactur defect. Take it back to the store you bought it at, and they will give you a new one, no questions asked.

Bushnell is the way to go

Good luck

i guess i'll put in my .02... like you said in your post the scope is for a kid's 10/22 for poppin a few squirrels... so you dont need a leaupold or any expensive high power scope... i would just go to walmart and pick up a cheap tasco... you can get one for like 20 - 30 bucks... sure they might not be high quality, but who wants to pay more than the price of your squirrel blaster for a scope... now if it was for big game, where placing your shot is crutial at long ranges... then go for the $400 leaupold... but for a couple small critters... cheap is fine ... i also think that a 3-9x should be plenty good...
