I've already started roosting on the bedpost. The weathermen are calling for mid to upper 70's here this weekend, and when that is combined with the number of birds already seen strutting, there should be some major gobbling going on!!

Come on April!!

Yea, its' going to be getting pretty this weekend, I've only seem one strutter, we had some rain last week and I saw 4 or 5 birds in a cut corn field , one was all blowed up!
Will be hitting the woods every chance I get now, between this weekend and the season opener.
Don't know about the teachers but I bet you guys are driving the gals crazy ...with all that strutting/spitting and drumming :toofunny:

Did a bit of poking around here in central Va. today and still seems the birds are hanging out in the woods. I guess as soon as this weather breaks, they will hit the fields! Two weeks out now, I'm ready to get after um!

Finally dropped the hammer on old boss yesterday. Worked my butt off from daybreak til 7:45 but all the begging and pleading finally paid off. He gave me the full show and turned out to be a nice bird as well. 24 lbs. 10 7/8" beard with 1 1/8" spurs. It was 'as good as it gets"
