Dove Hunting in the Rain

New hunter here -- > Do dove fly at all when it's rainy or threatening to rain? High chance of rain out near Temple, TX where I hope to go this weekend, but I have a hunch it might be waste of time with rain chances what they are. What's your experience with doves in rainy weather?

If is is a constant & heavy rain they typically won't fly too much as they don't have the same amount of oil glands as waterfowl to waterproof their flight feathers with. But if there are intermitten showers (not storms) and you are in a good feeding area you stand a good chance of some fine shooting between showers. You might just have to wait out the rain for the breaks between showers and be ready.
