Delmarva Fox Squirrel

Postby BobF » Sat Dec 29, 2012 8:10 am

Spent a few days on Assateague NWR on a sika hunt. Was sitting near some pines and finally saw a fox squirrel. These are endangered so I pulled out the camera. I swear they know they're safe because this thing looked at me like "What do you want?" They are really big. Looked like a cat with a huge furry tail.

Thats a nice fox!! Here are a few I killed in NC, but I think they are a different type of fox squirrel. I got the silver and black one mounted and I will be getting the all black one done as well.

They are big squirrels. I hunt in PA and I was out in full camo for muzzleloader sitting on a log. I felt the whole log bounce while I sat on it and turned to see a massive fox squirrel staring at me trying to figure out what the bump was on his log, lol. Good pic, they are a neat animal.
