I have competed in Tornament Hunting for a 1 1/2 years . If you travel to the events prepare to spend lots of money. Lodging ,food and gas. Some of the bigger events can cost up to 200.00 per run . By the way did I mention if you do one run, your chances of winning are very slim. You are competing against people who run multiple dogs . Which means they get to see the field multiply times. Which means the know where the birds are . Now dont get me wrong if you are a good shoot and have a dog that is fast and has a good nose, you can get lucky. There are tournaments that are match play and that let you hunt in the same field only once. Which makes the game fair for a one dog owner. The tournaments are a great way to spend the off season and travel to some great hunting clubs and meet some great friends who share a passion for competition.
