Red legged partridge

Is this bird mount worthy it is my first. Is he in good plumage he is my first ever upland bird
Leaning towards a standing pose on a stump if I mount him

Can't see photo, Sounds like something from England or Scotland got another name for it.

looks like a well plumed chukar to me. a lot of the wild birds have the black 'speckling' along the neck.

It is not a chukar though closely related. A chukar does not have the black spots around the neck. It is a red-legged partridge.
You can do a Google image search.

I am not aware of any red legged partridge that are wild in the US. Did you shoot this on a game farm?

Here in Nevada we actually have two types of "Red Legs"..........
the Chukar and the Hungarian.

Both are great sport and have a great flavor.

That's a cool bird... I've killed lots of wild chukars over the years in a couple different western states and I've never seen a bird with the speckled neck...
