Has anyone gone huntin for quail yet in NM ?
I am in Las Cruces and plan to go this next week for the first time. My neighbor and I will take off around town before going further out to find em.
Just wondering of ayone has seen if the populations are up this year or not.
A hunter is one with the world he/she hunts in.
A fisher is one that wants to be in the world he/she fishes in.

My brother and uncles went just west of roswell and limited out with in a couple of hours.

how common are mearns quail down there? is it mostly bobwhites?

Most of the state is covered in bobwhite, Gambel's, Scaled, and Montezuma Quail. restrictions exist on the Montezuma's for bag limits much more than the others.
