Snipe with a Vizsla

Postby Sniper John » Sat Jan 19, 2008 2:31 pm

Headed to Oklahoma for the last day of Snipe season. I got some, but my Vizsla Blaze and I earned every one of them both in lots of walking through slimy shallow water muck, retrieving birds from some really nasty stuff, and difficult shooting. I enjoyed the challenge. Took one heck of a Picture afterwards.

I wish I had taken a picture of my short hair and my 4 snipe I got a couple of weeks back. I love snipe hunting for all those reasons.

That is a good looking dog you have there. It is a great picture!!!
Life is too short to hunt with an ugly dog.

Yes, I was stunned when I got home and loaded the picture on my PC. Very bright sun, so I set the camera on an automatic "Beach" mode and held it near the ground out to the side to keep my shadow out of the picture. Had no idea it was going to turn out so well.
Snipe is my favorite bird to hunt!

Beautiful picture, I work my Vizsla on snipe for exercise during duck season. We took several limits this year hunting flooded pastures. She loves running in the slop and shes never lost a bird.
