So what type of gun does everyone use for upland i know most of you are like me and use a tough war horse for duck hunting but what do you tote for upland I use a stoeger upland 12 gauge with 26" barrels.
I've used a Stevens SxS 16 ga., an 870 12 ga., and will test out a Rem/Spartan 310 O/U 12 ga. next year when my now in PA hunting buddy is fixed up from his hip replacement.
Stevens sxs 12 gauge that was my grandfathers, for pheasants (once in a while I take it out for an easy duck trip). Fox-Savage sxs 20 gauge for partidge and woodcock. I absolutely love a side-by-side double.
Generally I shoot a BPS 20 Ga, but in the grouse woods I sometimes carry my 311 SxS 20 Gauge.
I'd love a fine double, but I'm kind of a champagne taste on a beer budget sort of guy.

I carried a citori 12 ga that was like a tank. This last season I switched over to a Benelli Montefeltro in 20 ga. Light as a feather and cycles like a dream.
Franchi Falconet 12 ga for pheasant and a Beretta 3901 for all the others.
rmh and capt66 if you guys ever want to head out in the fields after the only import from china I've ever liked, you let me know. My springers will blow you away. I took 42 last year on PA game lands.

My upland hunting pretty much consists of pheasant, partridge and woodcock. For those i use my 20 GA Remington 1100 LT. Its nice and light, fits me good and i shoot it well.
Heres a limit of "those birds" that my buddy Eric and I killed over my Brit Abby in the December late season.
Depending on my mood and exactly what I'm hunting I use one of 4 guns...preserve quail (with some pheasants) I shoot either my Fausti 28 SxS, Rem 1100 .410 (I'm not a huge 1100 fan but it is the only auto .410 made) or my A5 Sweet Sixteen. For early season doves I normally shoot my 28 or my Browning Gold 20 and my Sweet Sixteen for late season birds.
On wild quail or when I get the opportunity to travel for wild pheasant I shoot either my Sweet Sixteen or Citori 12.
I use the same gun for hunting ducks that i use for quail, dove, pheasant and turkey. Mainly because i only have the one shot gun.
I plan on getting a turkey gun soon though. If'n my wife lets me of course. See i plan on buying a quad. and i dont think she will let me buy an expensive gun and the quad. i have to decide wich one i want more..
In my opinion you should choose a gun depending on what type of dog you are using. Upland hunting can make for a very tiring day and I say choose a gun that easy to carry. When I'm hunting with a pointer I will bring a old Beretta 390 or even my extrema cause they have slings and I will not pull the gun off my shoulder unless the dogs on point. When hunting in a big group I tend to use a double gun cause it is a lot more fast paced and competitive shooting and the SxS is easiest to carry in hand.
Winchester Super X3 12 ga 26in. field model. It is a fast shooting gun, easily handles and carries nicely. Extremely fast wathc the video at winchesterguns.com. Their shooter shot 12 clays in 1.44 seconds with the only modification was a magazine extension to handle the 12 shots. Nice gun reasonably priced.
Winchester Select Energy, Field Model, 28", Ported, Adjustable comb, and of course Extended Carlson's Choke Tubes.
