Ca Quail huntin

Not too many Quail around, but when you hit what you shoot at things go alright. I managed 7 and my buddy got 2. I almost stepped on the rattler too but I did sorta a funny instinctual jump shoot thing and that was that. Image

yup, they taste good too.

They are a tricky bird to hunt though. since they roost in trees up on hills you have to either get them in the fields when the go to feed. which is what the guys with dogs do.

or you catch them when they go for water and/or shade in the creek beds in the heat of the day. Then after you bust a covey you chase the singles and pairs up the hillside.
