ive got a beagle that i rabbit hunt, but he is also pretty good at flushing pheasants. my problem is that he does not understand that pheasants fly, so if he doesnt see one flush he will keep circling around and trying to work out the scent. sometimes he can be a real pain to pull off the scent especially if multiple birds flush. im wondering how do you guys with bird dogs teach them not keep working a track after it flushes. is it something that a bird dog just has or are they just better at looking for a flying bird when one flushes?
