This weekend was only my second time rabbit hunting, but one memory will forever be engraved.
On Saturday my cousin let his pack of 6 beagles loose and less than an hour later I bumped a cottontail on a field's edge. The rabbit darted across a growing wheat field with the dogs right on his tail.
After the rabbit gave the dogs and us the slip (several times) he finally decided to take the ultimate sacrifice and just gave up. I think any time over one hour of being chased was just too much for him, so without a shot being fired we had our rabbit in the bag.
This was a first for me and somthing I won't forget.
