Postby ILgoosehunter12 » Tue Feb 23, 2010 10:35 pm

hey guys. just wandering if anybody has been getting out crappie fishin this year? ive been out twice caught a small one. got a pic of it. i brought my bass pole today. and almost caught me a bass on a Powerbait blue with pink tail. had a fun time today. plus i got to see about 20 geese on this pond and they all got up and flew right over our heads.

thaats what i said the first time. and i was about to say it yesterday. well, i was pretty mad. i got me a new bass fishin pole and on the first cast i didnt like examine the reel and make sure there was nothing tangled up or anything. so i casted out and it wasnt reeling in like normal. so on the second cast, i cast out and got a HUGE birds nest. so i had to sit there and cut line and all that good stuff. but i ended up gettting back into the water and hit some nice bass hits on my powerbait. then it slowed down a little, and i used the crappie pole and we ended up with 3.

........ ...Don't 'cha hate when that happens? :lol3: .....Lemme' share something...I like to impress my fishin' buddies and call it a "Proffessional Over-run" vs. a birds nest,..drives 'em nuts

I've been catching them here in Middle Tennessee at around 25' . So here they are still really deep. Water is too cold still. We ended saturday afternoon with 30 crappie 4 bass 9 drum, 2 cats and 1 striper. So it wasn't a bad day.

I am a true fair weather fisherman, and lately its been too cold for me to want to chase after any fish. When I was in Texas, it was not problem to go out on a nice afternoon. In missouri the nice afternoons haven't been here that much this winter. I'll start chasing them in a couple of weeks though.

we smashed some bluegill yesterday. the guy i fished with brought some night crawlers and we caught some nice bluegill. nice fat ones. i caught one tiny crappie on a jig and thats it.

we ended up catching 15 fish, 10 keepers. nice little batch of fish i think for only fishing 30 minuetes.

You got some Slabs in there.

I might try to go out on Saturday. Supposed to have some warmish weather.
