Fishing in Southwest Saskatchewan

Hey any of you live or fish in Southwest Saskatchewan ?
I think I'd like to try some walleye fishing. I'm thinking I'd bring the sportsman and do a shirt tail trip with the wife, kids, and grand kids. I would come up through Havre MT and would like to keep it a round 100/150 miles ( 160/240 K) in to Canada. Other wise it wouldn't make any sense to bring the boat,at 150 miles/240 k, It would make the round trip about 600 miles/965 K,any thing over that and it's cheaper to rent a boat,I would think. At $4/3.96 a gallon here that's $250/247. in gas.
Any way any thoughts? Regulations? Boat related stuff? You know Stuff I'd never think of. The last time I was in Canada was 1978 on our Honeymoon we went to the Calgary Zoo
The last best place.
