Flounder are fish that like structure(ie docks, points, oyter beds, rock piles, ledges). They are ambush fish. We usually use only live bait, but gulps will do as well.

Rigged up on a Carolina rig. I prefer 30lb power pro braid my main line. Carolina rig is braid, weight, small swivel, 18" leader, then hook.

Fish slow, all around the structure when the tide/current is moving. Pitch your baits out, and slowly retreive. Bites can be big "thumps" or as suttle as your bait stopping (this is wear braid is key, very sensitive) Flounder will not USUALLY hit, swallow hook and run. Generally its a process that can take up to minutes. GIVE THEM TIME TO EAT.

Depending on the time of the year bait shops will have them. If not DOA shrimp, and gulp shrimp are good too.

Frozen squid works in a pinch. usually can get it @ the local market.
I like live bait / fresh squid on jigs for summer flounder "fluke"
sand worms on a spreader rig for winter flounder "black backs"
