IMO, if it weren't for duck season, this is the BEST time of year. The bass are putting the feed bag on up north to bulk up for a long winter.

Slow, but I do keep a rod with a big topwater in the boat to snag ducks without haveing to wade out or move the boat.

My stupid Viszla is short haired and thinks the water is too cold this time of year.

I keep threatening to replace her with a lab but she just wags her tail and fetches her toy duck.
