Burbot any one ?

Postby Duplex lover » Tue Mar 11, 2014 4:30 pm

I fish burbot a lot. It's always a brutal game, At night, New moon so it's very dark in the winter , windy cold, nasty, but I love it. I guess even a blind squirrel finds nuts. I caught my biggest ling ever today at 11:00 in full sun light, on a jug with a garlic minnow. NOTHEN what I would do for a ling fishing trip. We put it back and plan a proper ling trip very soon . It was over three feet long and was HEAVEY!!! Maybe in this spot there all pigs, I will let you know soon...

Damn ugliest fish ever! Awesome catch though! I hear they are excellent eating. I live a couple hours from a Flaming Gorge Res. and they unfortunately are plentiful there. They have a Burbot tournament every year that takes thousands of pounds out of the water. Keep catching em'!
