Go To Bait

Postby NVDuckSlapper » Wed Apr 09, 2014 2:29 pm

What's your guys' go to bait when nothing seems to be biting? (preferably bass bait). Mine is an old Cotton Cordell Square bill crankbait that just seems to get the job done when nothing else will.

Black with curly chartreuse tail Slider grub with orange jighead. Seems to catch anything from crappies to bass whenever they get tight lipped

When they are biting light, they short strike it a lot. Wacky slows the action and they have a better chance at eating the hook.

Matters on where I'm fishing.
Deep--shakey head jig worm, drop shot rig with finesse worm or jig.
Shallow cover- tube, Senko, jig-n-pig or Texas rigged worm.
Suspended--suspending jerkbait

Being in oklahoma, I throw a lot of swimbaits. Mostly because I would much rather tag a big stripe or hybrids.
Also why I have an A-rig within reach at all times.
