advice on a fish finder

Postby bayouboy » Fri Apr 11, 2008 8:33 am

i bass fish a lot and do not have one. 9/10 place i fish are small, shallow waters and i'll fish structure. i think a fish finder would be beneficial with at the very least, giving the temp. and depth.

i have some questions: when looking at the graph of the fish finder, is the information coming from in front of the boat, below, or behind (i'm sure some may be diff., i heard of a new hummingbird that shows approx. 100 yds on left and right),

do you need 1 fish finder for the tranducer on the motor and 1 fish finder for the one on the trolling motor (or do you choose which one you want it on)

finally, any suggestions on a good fish finder, possibly w/ a gps for a decent price.
